Condemn arrest of demonstrators against fuel rationing

Based on reports we have recently received, 255 people have been arrested in the capital city of Tehran in Iran for participating in demonstrations against fuel rationing. The 255 detainees have been transferred to the notorious Evin prison. We also have been informed about the arrest of another 150 demonstrators in the city of Yasouge. The demonstrations against fuel rationing started three days ago and have continued. The Islamic regime have threatened to severely punish those arrested with long prison sentences and other forms of punishment.

The “Committee for the Struggle to Free Political Prisoners in Iran” calls upon all international organizations and people everywhere to join forces with us, act immediately on behalf of those arrested, and exert pressure on the Islamic regime in Iran to immediately and unconditionally free all political prisoners.

For more information, email the committee.
